Guitar Showdown At Hirsch Memorial Coliseum

Official Rules, Terms, and Conditions

Audition times:

Saturday, August 1st, 2009, 12 noon to 5pm

Saturday, August 8th, 2009, 12 noon to 5pm

Tipitina’s Music Office Co-Op

700 Texas St.

Shreveport, LA 71101

There are four categories based on age as follows:

1) 6 through 10 years of age,

2) 11 through 13 years of age,

3) 14 through 17 years of age,

4) 18 through 21 years of age.

Terms and conditions:

o Participants for audition will be chosen on a first come first serve basis.

o Past winners are not eligible to compete.

o Each audition performance will be 3 minutes to a maximum of 5 minutes per performer.

o At the audition, Tipitina’s will provide one guitar amplifier for electric guitars and one microphone and stand for acoustic guitar performances.

o Special equipment needs must be provided by each musician.

o There will be a 5 minute set up time before your audition performance and a 5 minute tear down time after your audition performance.

o No pre-recorded tracks or accompaniment may be used.

o Video recordings of performances will be made and may be posted to the internet.

o There will be a maximum of 5 finalists chosen from each age category to compete on August 22, 2009 at the Guitar Showdown during the James Burton International Guitar Festival.

o Judges will determine the finalists from the auditions. The finalists will compete at the 2009 Guitar Showdown.

o Judges will determine the winners based solely on performances at the Guitar Showdown on August 22, 2009.

o Judges decisions are final.

o Finalists names and all other contest information will be posted at the following website: http://guitarshowdown.blogspot.com/
